April/May 2014: TASTING AUSTRALIA – RIVERLAND FOOD, WINE & TOURISM ON SHOW

The Riverland’s major food, wine and tourism industry bodies have combined to support a showcase of Riverland produce at the 2014 Tasting Australia event being held from 27 April – 4May. Destination Riverland General Manager Tony Sharley said ‘Each of these industries benefits by working together to help promote its products and the region — and Tasting Australia is a great place for us all to work in partnership. We estimate that this year’s new format event, spearheaded by Simon Bryant, will bring more than 20 000 people in contact with Riverland produce.’   Events featuring local Riverland produce are described below:   Riverland Food & Wine on show in Town Square, Victoria Square, Adelaide: Thursday 1st – Sunday 4th May, 2014 Destination Riverland, Riverland Wine and Food Riverland are supporting several Riverland producers including award-winning Banrock Station Wines, Wilkadene Woolshed Brewery, 919 Wines and Bassham Wines, and local food producers, to provide tastings and sales in the Town Square precinct created within Victoria Square, Adelaide. A highlight will be cooking demonstrations of locally-farmed Murray Cod cooked numerous different ways over four days. Supporting chefs include renowned Riverlanders Greg Janssen and Peter Kent, Adelaide-based native food pioneer, Andrew Fielke, and award-winning chef Ayhan Erkoc.
